Se7en

Number seven is one of the symbolicly strong numbers. It's 7 week days, 7 agains Thebes,7 wise masters, in ancient Egypt 7 was a God's number, 7 days of creation, part of Christian ethics clasification of vices- the 7 deadly sins, this is what our story is about.

Detective Somerset ( Morgan Freeman) and detective Mills ( Brad Pitt) are investigating a very complicated crime case. The killer knows exactly what he is up to -he is playing a game with police. The first victim was a man who murdered in his home while he was eating, the killer left a note  after himsel with the word "glutton". After a while detectives found the second dead body, it was a man on the flour at his office, next to it the killer left the second message written in blood -"greed". All crimes were made according to the Catholic moral thoughts, The seven deadly sins. The meaning of the word "glutton" is excessive disire for food,"greed"- desire for material things. But police must find the killer before he made his justice, there are still five sins missing: sloth (physical laziness), envy, wrath (uncontrole feelings, anger, violence), pride (self admiration) and lust (intense desire for sex).

The most unexpeting thing is when the killer ( Kevin Spacey) exposed himself, he accepted all accusations, but it didn't  mean that he gave up, he wanted to make a great finally. In my opinion, it was the most difficul episode because the main character Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt became on second part and Kevin Spacey took the lead till the end.

There are lot of high tense moments, that makes you feel part of the investigation, all the time so many questions comes out of your mind. The end is the best part, when it is hard to predict wether good or bad side are gonna to win.

Some more cast that i haven't mentioned and deserve to be named: Gwyneth Paltrow, John Cassini, Endre Hules, John C. mcGinley.

If somebody likes crime and detective movies they will definitely enjoy this one!

Being John Malkovich

What is to be John Malkovich? In my opinion, the best words to describe it are "...it's the idea of being inside somebody else's skin and seeing what they see and what they feel..." it was a dialogue between Craig Schwartz ( John Cusack) and Maxine (Catherine Keener) when they were talking about Puppets. It's the best comparison because puppet is a doll which is manipulated and controlled by other person (puppeteer). This is exactly what happened with J.Malkovich.

The director Spike Craig has a huge imagination,he created a portal door to a famous actor John Malkovich'es body, so eveybody became obsessed to know what it's like to be him. It was only a small part the real John playing himself, most of the time he had to play different  characters whoever entered the door, the portal key to his body.

It is very untraditional story exactly the way how I would describe the actor John Malkovich. He is very renowned in big screen plays, most of his parts are very strange and odd characters, in this one is not an exception , I really enjoyed the movie, it brings a lot of diverse, very intriguing, unpredictable and surreal. To sum up, the movie couldn't makes me blink just for a second.

Big creddit for cast,so many great actors: John Cusack, Cameron Diaz ,Catherine Keene ,John Malkovich, Ned Bellamy, Octavia Spencer. There are short episodes with Charlie Sheen and Sean Penn as well.

Enjoy!

The Color Purple

I'm very proud to introduce the first movie, which I picked randomly, for my project. "The Color Purple" is based on Alice Walker's novel which won Pulitzer prize in 1983. Then in 1985, this story became motion picture directed by one of the greatest director, Steven Spielberg.

11 Academy Awards, BAFTA Award for the best screenplay, 5 Golden Globe nominations and Winner for the best actress by incredible Whoopi Goldberg. Starring with talented Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey and Margaret Avery.

It is a very touching life story about a young woman whose life was very difficult and a lot of violence, full of pain and suffer that she had to face. Celi Jonson (Whoopi Goldberg) was forced to marry a man who was treating her as a servant, she never felt loved and special as a human. At the beginning you can see her as very naive and innocent happy girl, then she turned to be very oppressed and sad, but at the end Celi stopped hiding herself in a shelf and standing by her fears.

The mostmagnificent  scene for me was when Celi's sister was teaching her how to read. It was very emotional, happy and vivid scene, I could feel how strong relation they had and also how precious time they were spending together because the day will come when they will have to separate and the letters will be the only way to keep them in touch.

Enjoy the movie the way I did!

The Beginning

Ok! Let's do it again! Project inspired by Steven Jay Schneider's 969-page book "1001 movie you must see before you die" 2013 edition.

Many of the movies I already saw but I gonna do it again! Fresh! It doesn't matter how many time I see my favourite movie but every time I find something new and different. There is one movie which I probably saw over 80 times... And I don't mind watching it again and again... But I will keep it in secret till it's turn.

Why i got inspired by this book? Because of its collection of different film genres, from classical to newest released, most award winning, which has strong characters and great stories, that has something deep to show its audiences.

Lets go straight to the movies!
